He focuses on the interdisciplinary fields of economic analysis and operations research, with special interests in energy and environmental issues. His research interests include energy and environmental modeling approaches using mathematical programming (e.g., bilevel programming, complementarity problem, stochastic programming).

He publishes papers in peer-reviewed journals that span across the areas of economics, operations research, and engineering. His papers appeared in journals such as American Economic Review, American Economic Journal, European Journal of Operational Research, and IEEE Transactions on Power Systems.
